When you work at Davidson, you might become a technical expert who advises on embedded software developments and architectures, or you might gravitate toward managing embedded systems projects-whatever path you choose, we could use you. And of course you know that C isn't just the chemical symbol for carbon, low-level programming doesn't mean coding in the basement, and Multithread, Mutex and Semaphore aren't Marvel superheroes...

Let's start with:

• Designing and implementing software in C to run on 8-32 bit embedded systems
• Adhering to the application's specific constraints (real time, low power, critical system, etc.)
• Getting up to speed with new microcontrollers, with or without RTOS
• Ideally, an ability to dig down through layers: read a data sheet, tweak registers, etc.
• Debugging, investigating, testing corner cases to figure out why it works on paper but not on the card
• Using your writing skills to document your work (architecture files, specifications, test procedures, etc.)
• Providing expertise and feedback to the Dav community (internal projects, support, training, etc.)

Skills (pre-existing or to be acquired)

• A postgraduate degree
• You can speak, read and write English (without using Google Translate)

Talents/soft skills

• A passion for embedded systems (Passion >> Competency for us: the former is slower to develop than the latter)
• Proven ability to analyse and see the big picture
