**Job Description:** We are looking for a **Senior Human Factors Specialist (m/f)** for our Airbus Aircraft activity to join its aircraft cockpit design team, based in Toulouse, France. The team's mission is to contribute to the safety and operational efficiency of our customers, by ensuring that human performance and limitations are integrated into its research, development, certification, production, and customer support activities for its products, services, and processes. Safety and human beings are at the heart of our mission, with the aim of minimizing workload and error risks for the crew, producing effective responses to normal and abnormal situations, and improving pilot task performance. You will evolve within a department of approximately 30 human factors specialists and experts, with very diverse profiles in terms of nationalities (around 10 different nationalities), education and professional experience, age, and gender. They are all highly qualified in one or more human factors discipline(s), such as cognitive ergonomics, neuroscience, linguistics, or physical ergonomics. Our department covers a wide variety of projects, from minor evolutions on existing products to large research and technology (RnT) projects to prepare the next generation of cockpits. **Your working environment:** World capital of aeronautics and European capital of space research, Toulouse is a dynamic city in the southwest of France served by an international airport. Wherever possible, we promote flexibility in our working methods to stimulate the spirit of innovation. **Your challenges:** * Provide human factors expertise on critical and complex cockpit layouts, functions, technologies, and operations by working within a multidisciplinary team composed of pilots, designers, training center representatives, safety specialists, and various experts from the design office. * Analyze needs and factors influencing human performance, develop recommendations to be taken into account in the design of existing fleets or future products, and ensure human factors evaluations involved. * Participate in the development of certification strategies (potentially becoming Human Factors DCS). * Lead projects with partners and universities with the aim of developing scientific knowledge to continuously secure aviation safety. * Represent Airbus in international working groups dealing with regulatory evolution or safety improvement initiatives. **Your boarding pass:** * Master's or Doctorate in human factors applied to user experience (UX), with specific knowledge of human behavior (perception, understanding, problem-solving) and its characteristics (impact of fatigue, stress, workload, situational awareness, experience, competence, motivation, personality...) as well as human factors methods applied to the design of complex systems. * Knowledge of aircraft systems and flight operations. * Knowledge of human factors-related certification regulations applied to commercial aircraft (wide-body). * Extensive experience in the aeronautical field: airlines, manufacturers or aeronautical authorities, and/or a pilot's license are a significant asset. * Ability to express, justify, and defend a position in difficult situations. * Negotiation level in English.
