Engineering Physics Intern

We are seeking a motivated Engineering Physics Intern to join our dynamic and international team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in building advanced satellite docking systems that are shaping the future of in-orbit services. Job Description The successful candidate will contribute to the research and prototyping of non-robotic (e.g. magnetic, electrostatic, etc.) satellite grasping systems for in-orbit docking missions.

• Perform a literature review and evaluate non-robotic grasping technologies.
• Collaborate with the Space Systems, GNC and Robotics team to define key requirements and architecture for application to satellite docking missions.
• Develop numerical simulation models using Matlab, Simulink and other tools.
• Design, assemble and test a breadboard solution of the selected docking method.
• Plan test campaigns with partner laboratories, such as air-bearing or robotic laboratories.
• Prepare technical documentation and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

• Pursuing a Master's Degree in Engineering Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics engineering or equivalent higher qualification.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics engineering or equivalent higher qualification.
• Experienced in CAD software such as Solidworks or CATIA.
• Understanding of space environment constraints and effects on systems
• Knowledge of orbital mechanics and spacecraft operations
• Comfortable designing and running experiments, from concept to test results (mechanical elements, sensors, actuators, test instrumentation).
• Knowledge of multibody dynamics software, MATLAB/Simulink.
• Excellent technical writing, documentation, and presentation skills
• Pro-activeness and ability to work in a self-directed, fast-paced and result-oriented environment.

• Students doing Masters currently based in France or EU citizens residing anywhere and available for a minimum of 5 to 6 months internship.
• PhD students residing anywhere and available for a minimum of 3 months.
• Very good written and spoken English.
• The French Language is a plus.
