Senior Embedded Software Development Engineer - Air-Ground Datalink Systems (m/f)

**Job Description:** Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a *Senior Embedded Software Development Engineer - Air-Ground Datalink Systems (f/m)* to join our Avionics Software based in Toulouse, France. This organization is an in-house avionics equipment and simulators supplier. Engineers in this domain are responsible for the design, the development, the production and the support of critical embedded products (e.g. Flight Controls, Flight Warning, Communication, Maintenance equipment) for all Airbus aircraft. This organization is also Chamber of Reference on Software and Electronics thanks to accomplished and experienced teams. The scope of activities also extends to other Airbus divisions and partners in some cases. As an experienced Engineer, you will actively drive and participate in the detailed design, coding, and verification (up to DAL C) of real-time software modules for our Datalink systems. • Practical mastery of ATN and ACARS protocols, including detailed knowledge of ARINC 618 and ARINC 619 specifications.
• Practical experience with Data Serialization (ASN.1) for complex message processing, specifically CPDLC PDUs.

Data Serialization (ASN.1):

• Essential practical experience using ASN.1 (Abstract Syntax Notation One) to define, encode, and decode complex ATC messages, particularly CPDLC Protocol Data Units (PDUs).
• Develop embedded real-time software following development process from the high-level specification analysis to the integration and the validation on the definitive hardware.
• Ensure end-to-end integration of the software with the target hardware and advanced test benches (Bus Analyzers, Radio Link Simulators, etc.), and validate the real-time performance and reliability of communications.
• Act as the technical Subject Matter Specialist on ATN/ACARS protocols and Data Serialization (ASN.1) to mentor junior profiles within the team and ensure the sustainability of technical know-how.
• Ensure the related support activity: failure report analysis, answer to technical requests.
• Improve the ways of working; bring new design solutions and technologies.
• Define, follow-up and receipt the subcontracted activities and deliverables, in conformity with the subcontracting management rules.
• Manage your activities following the expected schedule, budget and quality.
• Participate to the improvement of the Department performance.

Strong experience in Avionics Datalink :

• In-Depth knowledge and practical experience with ATN and ACARS protocols and architectures
• Mastery of Data Serialization techniques, notably ASN.1 (Abstract Syntax Notation One), and experience processing complex ATC messages (e.g., CPDLC Protocol Data Units - PDUs).
• Familiarity with the technical specifications: ARINC 618 and ARINC 619.

In addition, following skills and exeperience are required :

• Minimum of 5 years of experience (or specify relevant number) in Critical Real-Time Software Development with proven familiarity with the DO-178C certification process.
• Critical Real-Time embedded software development vs certification (DO178-C, DAL-A to E)
• Mastery of the C language for embedded development, including optimization techniques for memory and real-time performance
• Solid experience with Software Engineering practices and tools (including version control, continuous integration, and standard DEVOPS workflows) in a high-integrity development setting.
• Open mind-set, good communication skills and good team working

Follow skills would be additional assets :

• Embedded Security Awareness: Understanding of security challenges related to the integrity, authentication, and resilience of Air-Ground data link communications.
• Security Standards: Familiarity with the objectives of avionics security standards (ED-202A /DO326A & ED-203A/DO356A)
• You are recognized for being a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• An advanced level of English and French is required.
